About Oncology Massage of Tallahassee

Oncology Massage & Therapist

How is oncology massage different from normal massage?
Oncology massage takes into consideration all a person has gone through, surgeries, medication, or radiation. My goal is to tailor the massage so it can reduce or eliminate some of the symptoms that are created from the disease and created from the treatment of it.  Research suggests that some of those symptoms massage can help with are pain, nausea, fatigue, insomnia, depression, and anxiety.  I not only work with individuals who have or had cancer, but I also work on people without health challenges.

I graduated from the Core Institute and became licensed in 1994. I have been trained in many modalities, however, I specialize in working with people who have cancer, are in remission, or have lymphedema. I served the state of Florida as a board member, Vice-Chair and Chair of the Florida Board of Massage Therapy from 2009 until 2015. I also served as the Florida Delegate to the Federation of State Massage Boards in 2014 and 2015. I taught massage therapy for the Core Institute for three years and  at Lively Technical Center from 2011 - 2017.  I am a member of both the AMTA and the Society for Oncology Massage.
